Mirror Mirror on the Walls of Amiro Art & Found

Consider how many times we look at our reflections in a mirror in a day - fixing our hair for work, shaving before a first date, checking hemlines, or the polish on our shoes. If the mirror was a camera, it would record the passage of time through those collected images.

This is the premise of an installation of etched mirrors by Jan Tomlinson Master at Amiro Art and Found opening the April 4 First Friday Art Walk. The gallery, located at 9C Aviles Street on the oldest street in Saint Augustine, will be open from 5:00 to 9:00p.m.   Light refreshments will be served.

Using vintage 'found' mirrors, she has etched phrases from her diary that Master considers 'transitional' or 'illuminating'. The installation is part of Mirror, Mirror, a show featuring mermaid mirrors by Karen Cockcroft, mosaic mirrors by Wendy Mandel- McDaniel, and driftwood with raku mirrors by Estella Fransbergen.

Mirror, Mirror will be on display through April.  Amiro is open Thursday-Monday from 11a.m. to 5p.m.with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays until 7:00p.m. For more Information about Amiro Art & Found please call 904-824-8460 or visit www.amiroartandfound.com.
