boho blvd, Bohemian Inspirations with a Twist Featured During March 1st First Friday Art Walk at Amiro Art & Found
A showing of Lori Hammer’s unique jewelry, boho blvd, Bohemian Inspirations with a Twist, will be the featured artwork during the March 1st Friday Art Walk at Amiro Art & Found. Amiro is located at 9C Aviles Street in Saint Augustine and will be open from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. during the Art Walk. Boho blvd will be on display throughout the month of March.
Over the years, Hammer has collected a wide variety of vintage materials that she uses to create her distinctive jewelry. Vintage materials that have ageless appeal are given new life in the form of jewelry, belts, and other accessories. Hammer mixes the surreal and whimsy, vintage and modern; often using bright colors alongside stark black and white in her pieces. “I love both creating and building, and my jewelry pieces allow me to do both,” explains Hammer. “I have a fondness for vintage clocks and watch parts, and have incorporated this love into my unusual jewelry and belts.”
Resident gallery artists Ginny Bullard, Estella Fransbergen, Deane Kellogg, Wendy Mandel McDaniel, Jan Tomlinson Master, and Marcia Myrick Siany will also be showcasing their unique selection of jewelry, mosaic creations, paintings, pottery, sculpture, vintage finds, and mixed media collages. Refreshments will be provided by Creative Juices Natural Café.
Amiro Art & Found is open Thursday-Monday from 11a.m. to 5p.m.with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays until 7:00p.m. and during First Friday Art Walks, until 9:00p.m. The gallery at 9C Aviles Street, is located on the oldest street in the nation’s oldest city.
