Amiro Celebrates an Anniversary and an Award

Amiro Art & Found will celebrate their one year anniversary during the June 1, 2012 First Friday Art Walk. Amiro, located at 9C Aviles Street, is a unique gallery located on the oldest street in the nation’s oldest city.  The public is invited to join as they celebrate from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Amiro is also proud to announce that a mosaic project by two of their featured artists, Wendy Mandel McDaniels and Jan Master, was recently selected by The Florida Association of Public Art Professionals as one of the two top public art projects in North East Florida for 2011. The project, Eco Story, is a mosaic sited in the outdoor amphitheater in Bird Island Park, part of the Saint Johns County Park System, located behind the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library at 101 Library Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach. The mosaic was commissioned to be an educational portrait of Northeast Florida natural habitats.  Each riser in the seating area is adorned with images of native plants and animals from the different ecosystems. The mosaic may be viewed at www.scenica1a.org/mosaic.html.

Amiro Art & Found offers the diverse artwork of a core group of artists, Estella Fransbergen, Marcia Myrick Siany, Wendy Mandel McDaniel, Jan Master, Deane Kellogg and Ginny Bullard as well as the work of an evolving roster of guest artists. Jewelry, mosaic creations, pottery, sculpture, vintage finds, paintings, and mixed media collages are just a few of artistic expressions that can be found in this eclectic gallery. Amiro Art & Found is located at 9C Aviles Street in Saint Augustine.
The gallery is open Thursday through Monday from 11a.m. to 5p.m. with extended hours on Friday and Saturday until 7p.m. Amiro is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
